The Kotel Siddur – English
A beautifully-designed prayer book for Shabbat evening and Festival evenings with short explanations in English.
When the sun goes down on Fridays, the Western Wall Plaza becomes a place where all the tribes of Israel are together – observant and secular, tourists, Jerusalem residents, youth from around the world – everyone praying alongside one another in harmony. Some of those who come to the Western Wall, especially those from abroad, sometimes find it difficult to use a traditional siddur (prayer book) though they want to participate in the Shabbat prayer services. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation wants everyone to feel at home at the Wall. The Western Wall Siddur includes only Shabbat evening prayers and helps people feel the full extent of the prayer experience. The prayers are transliterated alongside the Hebrew and in the margins there are short explanations in English that allow for participation in the service with an understanding of its contents.
